Gold or Platinum Engagement Rings?
Engagement Rings are typically made from either 18kt Gold or Platinum. Gold engagement rings can be Yellow, White or Rose in colour. Platinum Engagement Rings are always white.
In this part of the engagement rings buyers guide we will cover the following:
White Gold Engagement Rings and Platinum Engagement Rings are almost identical in appearance, but Platinum is more resilient. Platinum is more expensive than Gold, but at present, the Gold price is so high that it is well worth considering Platinum. Platinum is also hypo-allergenic and also doesn't noticeably tarnish.
Splendente is a beautiful engagement ring with a modern aesthetic made in Platinum.
The Princess Solitaire, from our Modena Collection and is made in White Gold.
A Karat (kt) is the unit of measurement for gold and represents purity, and should not be confused with carat (ct) which is a unit of weight used for diamonds. 24kt gold is 100% pure gold but it is not really suitable for jewellery as it is too soft. 18kt is the perfect choice. Some cheaper jewellery uses 9kt gold.
