Who says stars need big bling diamond engagement rings to declare their love? British-Australian actress Naomi Watts was spotted wearing a massive 5ct solitaire diamond engagement ring on and off over the last couple of years, but it was only in an interview in late January this year that Naomi confirmed that actor Liev Schreiber had actually given her the engagement ring, which she was not wearing at the time. The celebrity couple were spotted shopping for engagement rings in Los Angeles and it's thought the stunning engagement ring was purchased from Beverly Hills jeweller Neil Lane for about $150,000.

Engagement Rings Maybe, but Wedding Rings?

In the interview, despite discussing diamond engagement rings, Naomi said neither of them wanted to rush into marriage. "It's not like I've grown up having this dream of a fairy-tale wedding," she said. "My mother married twice and had two divorces. And Liev comes from the same kind of background." But rumours have flown for a while that the couple have actually married secretly, and these rumours were fuelled by Liev referring to Naomi as his wife on a few occasions. But Liev is renowned for playing tricks on the media, so I'm far from persuaded that the pair have secretly tied the knot.

Naomi moved with her family from the UK to Sydney when she was 14. Despite moving to Australia when she was a teen, she has said "I consider myself very Australian and very connected to Australia, in fact when people say where is home, I say Australia, because those are my most powerful memories". Like many Aussie celebrities, Naomi started her career in soap opera Home and Away, but she has since stared in Hollywood blockbusters such as 21 Grams (2001), The Ring (2002) and King Kong (2005).

Are Naomi and Liev Married?

The couple have two children, Sasha and Samuel. During her pregnancy, she was seen wearing her engagement ring on a chain around her neck probably because of swollen fingers. Just recently she has been seen wearing a gold ring on her wedding finger, but still no official announcement of marriage. Although she is one of the most bankable female stars there is, she is winding down her acting to spend more time with her family. Since meeting Liev about 5 years ago, family seems to have been pushed to the top of her priority list, so maybe that gold ring is a wedding ring after all!
